Biogas – energy and heat from agricultural substrates.

The countries of the European Union have set themselves the goal of meeting 20 percent of their energy requirements from renewable energy sources by 2020. Germany currently covers around nine percent of its primary energy consumption from renewable energies. In terms of electricity production from renewable energies alone, biogas accounts for a proportion of around 11 percent. In Germany, therefore, biogas has grown to become not only a significant business sector for the agricultural industry, but also an essential branch of the domestic economy.

The key to the success of a biogas plant is excellent substrate management and substrate quality. Around 50 percent of a plant's yield is determined by the substrate's value and supply chain. CLAAS machines are available for all essential supply chain applications.

CLAAS has been providing unparalled support for the successful operation of biogas plants for many years.
