CAM PILOT

Camera for three-dimensional structures.

Cut through standing crops with inch-perfect precision.

As soon as crops have grown in and above the soil, utmost caution is required for driving across fields. The CLAAS CAM PILOT guides the machine through the crop with such precision (within 2-3 cm) that no damage is caused.
The CAM PILOT uses its unique 3D camera to scan the spatial field structures in front of the machine. It will steer the machine through crop rows, tramlines, swaths and asparagus furrows automatically and without damage to crops.

CLAAS CAM PILOT for tractors and forage harvesters.

The CLAAS CAM PILOT has a unique 3-D camera which – for the first time – can recognise objects and tramlines three-dimensionally. The camera is housed in a compact unit and scans crop rows or tramlines in front of the tractor. Imperfections in the field do not cause any interference. The CAM PILOT is of course very easy to operate – thanks to the CLAAS COMMUNICATOR.

The camera can be moved from tractor to tractor easily and without additional expense. The tractor need only be equipped with suitable steering hydraulics. This helps to keep costs down.

Rows.

The row recognition system maximises savings in corn, vegetables, sugar beet and special crops:

  • High precision and speed during mechanical soil cultivation work
  • Consistently high quality of work all day long
  • Precise, mechanical weed control with wide hoeing elements - no need for expensive manual labour.

Ridges.

The ridge detection system offers major advantages on potato or asparagus fields:

  • Exact central ridging, rotary cutting and hoeing
  • Plot recognition in vegetable farming and tree nurseries

Swaths.

The swath recognition system localises grass, hay and straw swaths and guides the tractor along the perfect track

  • Minimised operator fatigue

Tramlines.

The tramline recognition system steers the tractor reliably and precisely through tramlines:

  • The driver is free to concentrate on the sprayer boom while spraying pesticides
  • Exact working of plant rows
