Knives

The cutting cylinder of the JAGUAR operates at a speed of 1,200 rpm. This works out at 20 cuts per second for each individual chopper blade. In a single harvesting season of 350 service hours, a total of over 25 million cuts are made per chopper knive. Only a specially coated chopper knive is capable of achieving this enormous workload. ORIGINAL CLAAS chopper blades are coated with tungsten carbide powder. This coating makes the chopper knives harder wearing than standard chopper knives.
