A short, precise and even cut is essential to the productionof high-quality silage.

The CLAAS ROTO CUT system meets all of these requirements.

High throughput.

  • Large, control-free rotor.

  • Driven by a robust single roller triplex chain with a constant tensioning device.

  • Roller bearings on the rotor even out heavy loads.

  • 9 rows of tines and large rotor diameter for low power requirement and improved flow of the wilted crop.

  • 33 blades arranged in a single row.

  • Theoretical chop length of 45 mm.

  • Very smooth running.
  • Even chopping without peaks due to spiral tine arrangement.

Stable rotor tines.

  • Less power required and a clean chop with the special layout of the 33 blades in conjunction with the special shape of the stepped rotor tines.

  • Clever arrangement of rotor tines in relation to the strippers means all types of crop (green forage, silage, hay) can be loaded easily.

Automatic chain lubrication as standard.

  • Each time the pick-up is raised, brushes spread the oil on the drive chains.

Easily accessible from all sides.

  • Two-stage hydraulically opened cutter housing is controlled by using the control terminal.

  • Entire rotor accessible from the rear.

  • Entire feed and chopping system can be examined, cleaned, and maintained easily.

Exclusive to CLAAS.

Clogs can be cleared quickly and without the driver getting out of the cab.

From the driver's seat, you can expand the entire transport channel by 8 cm. Nothing else stands in the way. When you switch the machine back on, the entire drive power of the PTO shaft acts on the jammed cut material and not against the knives. Quickly and with full force, the jam is cleared and the forage is advanced unhindered.

Blade changing made easy.

  • QUICK-OUT blade changing mechanism for rapid insertion and removal of blades without the use of tools.

  • When the cutting chamber is opened, the individual blade retainers are released automatically.
  • Knives individually protected against foreign objects.
  • The knives swing out and right back in automatically

  • No risk of blade damage. Trouble-free operation.
