Feeder systemShort cut and optimum chamber filling are the best recipe for perfect bale shape and maximum bale density.![]() More output – CLAAS rotor. The high performance rotor of the new QUADRANT 3400 is 1.30 m wide and has an 86 centimetre diameter. That is absolutely great and another component for maximum throughput. Nine tine stars produce small cut packets; together with an optimised flat cutting angle, this makes for a low power requirement. ![]() Short cut.The rotor pulls the crop through 25 long knives with a flat cutting angle. Two hydraulic locks protect against overload. Jams can be cleared from the cab, because the cutter chamber can be hydraulically lowered. With knife group selection, you have a choice: using 0, 12, 13 or 25 knives; that is ideal adaptation. ![]() Hydraulically controlled packer tinesIn the constant flow, the crop is removed from the rotor and powerfully transported into the prechamber. This continuous process contributes significantly to the increased performance, because the rotor can continually remove material from the pickup and cut it. Therefore, there are no jams as in other systems with the truncated function mode. Connectable prechamber. The new connectable prechamber of the QUADRANT 3400 ensures optimum chamber filling when picking up small swaths. Here the material is gathered until the prechamber is filled and the preselected pressure is reached. Only then is it raised into the bale chamber in one stroke by the hydraulically controlled packer tines. In the case of large thick swaths, the prechamber is simply switched off. And the system as a whole is called: INTELLIGENT FEEDING SYSTEM.
