Tying

With six knotters, clearly higher bale weights can be realised. For the QUADRANT 3400, the knotter was newly revised and was given a controlled twine clamping. The CLAAS heavy-duty knotters produce super secure, perfectly situated knots even at maximum bale density and throughput power.

At a bale chamber height of one metre, the needles have to cover an additional distance; therefore, less time is available. The magnificent solution is an eccentric drive. The needles are moved at a high speed, while the pure tying cycle occurs at a complete standstill. This ensures absolutely secure tying even for this large bale size. This innovative tying is called: HIGH SPEED BINDING.

The knotters are driven directly from the main gearbox. This ensures the synchronisation between piston and needle. In the event of problems, an active needle return protects the needles from damage.

Dust, stem fragments and dirt can disrupt the tying cycle. In the QUADRANT 3400, the turbo fan with permanent air flow ensures absolute cleanliness. It blows everything that does not belong in here out into the open.

Located behind the side flaps are large twine boxes in which the supply of tying twine for a long workday is stored. Even the new large rolls weighing 11.5 kg are securely stowed here.
