Starting on April 21st, a team of cyclists from agricultural machinery dealers Mill Engineers and Vaughan Agri pedalled the 870 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End (JOGLE) in just 11 days. To help them achieve this quick time, they were provided with moral and mechanical support by colleagues from the two companies five branches, which cover an area from Birmingham down to the Dorset coast.
Congratulations to Simon Viner (R G Spackman) with Richard Charman, Steve Blackwell, Nick Evans, and Steve McCahill (Mill Engineers Bibury); plus George Dyke, Andy Cubley and Richard Hutchinson (Mill Engineers Pewsey); Stan Wyatt and Tweka Yeatman (Vaughan Agri Dorchester) and Martin Hume and Allistair Tustin (Mill Engineers Harvington) who between them raised a massive £23,713.50.
The team were raising money for two causes - Cancer Research and the five Air Ambulance services that cover Mill and Vaughan’s trading area (Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance; Wiltshire Air Ambulance; Great Western Air Ambulance; Midlands Air Ambulance and Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance).
In addition, a number of the JOGLE Dozen were also raising money for local charities, including Dorset member Stan Wyatt who raised over £4,000 for the Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust’s BOOST Appeal.
A presentation was made to the charities on June 29th at Mill Engineers new Evesham branch at Harvington, Worcestershire.
